Here are some of the images from trash the dress photo shoot at the Timberline Lodge. We shot this the day after the wedding.

After few weddings this summer that were super hot, this wedding at the Gorge Crest Vineyards had perfect weather. Mt. Hood was out in all it’s glory. Fall can be the very best time to have an outdoor wedding, or a damp one, you never know!

Another local beauty returns from New York for her dream wedding in the cherry orchard where she grew up. It is easier to get memorable shots when the bride is not afraid to ham it up a little. We got some magazine worthy artistic shots in front of her Dad’s Rolls Royce. We did the engagement photo shoot a few days before the wedding in the same location. It is always better if a couple can find the time to do an engagement photoshoot before the wedding. It helps everyone to relax, get used to the camera, and learn to work together to create those magical images with their unique personalities showing through.

Local girl Tanah is marrying John from Alaska in August. In a previous posting, you can see her catching a bouquet at her girlfriend’s wedding. Apparently, it works! We got some amazing shots up at the orchard where they are going to get married. It is going to be a beautiful wedding with the views of Mt. Hood and the orchards.

This couple was a whole lotta fun. We headed out to sand bar for their engagement session to get some shots with the kiters. They are thinking about learning how to ride. As we were roaming around the sand bar finding different spots for shots, we stumbled upon a squatter camp in the bushes. It looked a lot like a set from survivor. This adventurous couple jumped right in and we took some shots in the camp. Hey, you never know what kind of adventure you will end up on during a shoot! But then, Chris is a firefighter and does adventure for a living. They had their dog Jen with them and we got some cool shots with the three of them.

Here is another tenacious bride that had booked her wedding at the Columbia Gorge Hotel coming from the East Coast but found another beautiful place and the day was saved! We took a few shots nearby as they were staying at the Columbia Cliffs Villas next door, then we headed over to the venue at Cathedral Ridge Winery. It was a beautiful day and I had a ton of fun shooting with this relaxed couple in the vineyard there.

Last Saturday I helped out my buddy Jim shooting the now infamous wedding at the closed Columbia Gorge Hotel. I like it when I get to occasionally help out as a second photographer because the pressure is off, and I can spend more time looking for those candid shots and get different angles and perspectives.
Jim Semlor is one of the best photographers in the Northwest, well, besides me of course (ha ha).
The bride fought so hard for this wedding, that Jim got her some pink boxing gloves. It was a good time, we were able to squeeze in just a couple of minutes for the shots with the gloves in the very tight schedule.

One week ago I had my first engagement photo shoot of the year. We went to the Washington side of the Columbia Gorge where it’s a little more dry in early spring. It was raining days before and after so we lucked out with the perfect weather. Elena and Mike are very easy to be around so working with them was more than fun. I’m looking forward to the wedding day already. I have heard that hiking in high heels is a bad idea, Elena proved them otherwise. She was amazing, completely undaunted by her attire and the mission. We had to climb a few steep patches with big boulders. I was pretty impressed by her high heel climbing abilities.
